Main Character, Ned Bunsem's Weapon

Once the character design had been chosen i quickly began working on weapon designs for the main character. I started off by researching into sci-fi toy guns to carry on the knowledge  that this character is nerdy and perhaps collects space guns and from that i began to design some rough shapes for guns or better yet weapons as i felt that making the designs unique would make the weapon stand out. But mid-way through designing the weapon i realised that perhaps using a water gun design would ground the character and add a little bit of humour so i took that idea and researched into water guns. Most of the designs of the weapon show their area of insertion such as the weapons ammo which we decided would be sauces, so you could use a tomato sauce bottle and insert it into the weapon to be used in attacking enemies or fixing broken foods. From the various designs i narrowed down my choices to four designs which i felt would go well with the main character and were unique designs from the othe choices.

The first design of choice that i did as a turnaround as well as show the use of the weapon with the addition of the tomato sauce bottle was a unique design which i felt was of a sci-fi design because of the slick, smooth and very basic shape which catches your attention.

The next design that i had chosen to go further with is another type of sci-fi weapon but this is very limited and gets to the point of shooting as the design is basic and straight forward which grabbed my attention from that fact and is more compacted around the character and would be easy to equip ammo after using the previous load.

The next design i had chosen was because it was a water gun design, one which is simple and eye catching and would be easy for the audience to understand what it is. Also i kept the design very simple as you can see from teh research they make the water guns with all of these additional stuff that make it look great but with my design i didn't want the gun to attract the audience away from the main game so keeping it simple is what will work better and also the insertions of the water bottles were somethign which felt like would be simple and easy to convert into a tomato sauce bottle.

The final choice of design that i had done was another sci-fi type of weapon which caught my attention because of it's simplicity and the fact that there are two parts of the weapon that shoot out i felt that those parts could change what they shoot or even be used as a different form of gameplay.

We decided to go with the water gun based design as it was much more of a grounded weapon and would be easy for the audience to realise what it is and what it does and everything about it goes together with the character as he is a character who would have this type of weapon and would use it in the first sign of a struggle as his common sense would realise that using his toy along with sauces would work as a weapon.
